FAST SPLINT MATRIX
The periodontal Splints
The periodontal splints are used to secure a tooth in determined position in traumatology, periodontology or orthodontic treatment. There are two reasons to secure:

- Reduce the tooth mobility related to a periodontal defect, a primary or secondary occlusal traumatism or a migration (1).
- Resist to dental cleaning: the teeth are assembled before the treatment to resist to the dental cleaning, leading to an immediate stability and a post-operative comfort. (2)

matrix
1- De-scale and polish the teeth meticulously
matrix
2- Clean the gaps between the teeth using an abrasive strip
matrix
3- Remove the protective strip from the
splintwax Clinique adhesive wax

matrix
4- Dry the dental surfaces and position the splintwax
Clinique strip in the site of the future splint.

matrix
5- Remove excess wax using a scalpel

matrix
6- Record the position of the wax
using transparent splintwax silicone

matrix
7- Place the tip of the matrixtip on the silicone key.
Cover with more silicone and leave it to harden.

matrix
8- Remove the excess silicone from the upper part.

matrix
9- Remove the excess silicone from the sides.
You should be able to insert the key without slipping.

matrix
10- Take out the silicone key and set aside.
Check that the wax imprint is clear on the intrados

matrix
11- Etch the surface receiving the splint.

matrix
12- Etch the vestibular surface and the gaps
between the teeth. Rinse and dry.

matrix
13- Remove the wax strip from the silicone key
and place on the packaging of the Perio-Ortho T1 braided rope.
Cut the rope to the length of the wax, in the direction of opening.

matrix
14- Apply a film of composite
adhesive in the negative imprint left by
the wax strip

matrix
15- Lay out the Fast Splint braided rope in the serration.

matrix
16- Apply the bonding agent on the palatine
surface of the teeth.

matrix
17- 17- Apply a drop of composite to the vestibular
surface to stabilize the teeth. Photo-polymerize.

matrix
18- Apply the adhesive to surfaces of the teeth.
matrix
19- Press the silicone into place using the Matrix tips
.

matrix
20- Polymerize in a single operation using a hand
lamp for 40 seconds, then remove the silicone matrix
.
matrix
21- The splint remains compacted and stuck to the dental surfaces
matrix
22- Apply a very thin layer of composite adhesive
and photo-polymerize.

matrix
23- Polish using a yellow ring composite mill.
